About Metal Roof Tiles
About Metal roof tiles from Met-Tile Roofing and the Benefits Over Other Roofing Materials
Before Met-Tile's metal roof tiles existed, most roofs were built with natural and easy-to-obtain materials such as steel sheets, concrete, wood, tin, iron or baked clay tile. However, corrugated steel roofs were installed as far back as the mid-1800s. Up until the 20th century, corrugated sheet metal roofs were a common site in Australian commercial buildings... along with the rust that eventually develops in them!
Thankfully, advances in technology have eliminated many of the reasons roofs eventually fail from extreme weather such as heat waves, snow storms, hurricanes, lighting strikes, hail storms, and just plain length of time.
Raw corrugated steel with air-dried paint eventually rusts... wood succumbs to insects and weather... baked tile might look nice but is very heavy and prone to cracking... the list goes on.
The tile profile from Met-Tile's metal roof tiles, assists with overlapping the sheets and sealing out water. The final manufacturing process we implement, called roll forming, increases efficiency in production and reduces the overall cost. Combine lightweight steel in sheet form, with Met-Tile's tile profile and you'll get an attractive, trustworthy, well made roof.
For those who are very conscious of the environment and our impact upon it, you'll be happy to know that steel roofing is completely recyclable.
Met-Tile's metal roof tiles also reflects the sun and reduces air-conditioning costs, while in cooler zones it can help warm spaces underneath. Low weight also reduces stress on the underlying walls of your home or building, and so doesn't require carefully thought out structural support. When installed properly, you should never see a problem with water leaks like you can get from traditional concrete, asphalt or ceramic tile roofing shingles.
Are you beginning to see the long term advantages Met-Tile's metal roof tiles can give you? We hope so!
